   I meant "upgraded" as in "replaced with a newer model", rather than opened   
   up and swapped the CPU for a newer one ... although, technically the VIC-20   
   and original C64 (not the newer slimline one, and people think PS3 were the   
   first to do that!) did have the same case design, so it may well be possible   
   to replace the entire circuit board inside the VIC-20 case with a C64 board.

   You could of course upgrade the VIC-20 with more RAM by plugging a memory
