   Word for Windows originated on the Mac.   
   Or, to be clearer: Microsoft Word on the Mac preceded Word for   
   Windows. Prior to Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, only the DOS   
   version of Microsoft Word existed.   
   So you weren't *really* wrong.
