   Yes: Russian *does* have the letter V (it looks like B, and they also   
   have a funny-looking B for B)... but, on the other hand, the consonant   
   W doesn't even exist in Russian. But maybe he came from a part of   
   Russia that spoke a dialect closer to Polish...
