   .I strongly believe there's a reference in TOS where McCoy or   
   Kirk or someone said that McCoy never attended Starfleet.  But I'll be   
   go to hell if I can actually remember which episode or even when it   
   was said...  It was just one of those tidbits that seems to have   
   gotten locked up in my brain given that Kelley was the epitome of   
   Southerner in my book.
