   Spock used to go out of his way to ridicule those "illogical humans"--a    
   way of showing us (and himself) that despite his half-human heritage, he    
   was all Vulcan all the way when it came to behavior.   
      
   ENT showed the Vulcans as looking down their noses at humans;    
   considering us immature children compared to them.   
      
   But those young Vulcans who called young Spock's dad a traitor and his    
   mom a whore, were just taunting him the way young kids taunt each other    
   even here on Earth. They were trying to provoke him into an emotional    
   response, to prove that he's more human than Vulcan. They succeeded.
