I mourned the end of Trek back in 1991 when I knew that       VI would be the final original cast movie. This one has the       characters so it's, technically, closer than the TNG movies (except       maybe Insurrection which could have been a TOS episode ;-)). I'm not       totally sold on the new cast but I'll see the next one, especially if       Shatner is involved. It's still a testament to the original casting       that they want the "real" people in there. I know people keep       mentioning Keith Urban as a great Dr. McCoy, but I think I finally       figured out that he reminds me more of Dan Aykroyd playing Dr. McCoy       in "The Last Voyage of the Starship Enterprise" on SNL from 1976 than       Deforest Kelley. And now it's on Hulu. Rewatching it I'm a little       surprised that they hit Shatner's delivery on the head. I thought his       reputation started later than that. And the audience is really in on       the jokes, like they've seen a lot of Star Trek.       http://www.hulu.com/watch/19313/saturday-night-live-star-trek---       he-last-voyage-of-the-starship-enterprise       Rik       --- Synchronet 3.15a-Linux NewsLink 1.92-mlp        * Origin: http://groups.google.com (1:2320/105.97)       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
