   Mostly agree.  I mourned the end of Trek back in 1991 when I knew that   
   VI would be the final original cast movie.  This one has the   
   characters so it's, technically, closer than the TNG movies (except   
   maybe Insurrection which could have been a TOS episode ;-)).  I'm not   
   totally sold on the new cast but I'll see the next one, especially if   
   Shatner is involved.  It's still a testament to the original casting   
   that they want the "real" people in there.  I know people keep   
   mentioning Keith Urban as a great Dr. McCoy, but I think I finally   
   figured out that he reminds me more of Dan Aykroyd playing Dr. McCoy   
   in "The Last Voyage of the Starship Enterprise" on SNL from 1976 than   
   Deforest Kelley.  And now it's on Hulu.  Rewatching it I'm a little   
   surprised that they hit Shatner's delivery on the head.  I thought his   
   reputation started later than that.  And the audience is really in on   
   the jokes, like they've seen a lot of Star Trek.
