|    So I Wasn't Surprised--    |

From Newsgroup: alt.tv.star-trek.tos       From Address: ryon@dslnorthwest.net       Subject: So I Wasn't Surprised--              I said I was going to see the movie and finally I did. I bought the       DVD and watched it a couple of times; once with family members who are       usually fond of Star Trek. I had expected to be disappointed and I       have to say that yeah, I was. From the over-stuffed nacelles, the       funky phaser pistols, to the bland plot-- the new Star Trek movie       reminded me of those 60s sci-fi films out of Italy and Japan.              Okay, so Roddenberry said he had hoped that somebody would do a       prequel, but I think in this case the poor man is spinning in his       grave. I wanted it to be good-- hey, I wanted Enterprise to be good,       too-- but oy! This was just mediocre pap. So 90 plus per cent liked       this huh? Hmmm, I guess that only goes to prove that majority rule is       often horribly wrong. As the song says, when you listen to fools the       mob rules. Pity. ;-)              Ron       --- Synchronet 3.15a-Linux NewsLink 1.92-mlp        * Origin: http://groups.google.com (1:2320/105.97)       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
