   That will pick up ALL the soluble minerals, not just the sodium    
   chloride.  You'll end up with a mix of dissolved minerals, some of which    
   may be hazardous to this creatures.   
      
   If you want to get pure sodium chloride and no other dissolved minerals,    
   you need some kind of chemical process that will react only with it and    
   with no other dissolved minerals.
