On Get Smart, we not only never learned 99's name, we never learned
her mother's name, either. She's just "99's Mother". It's quite
possible that no name for Number One would ever have been given even
if the series had run for years. Besides 99, there was also Number
Six and Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name, at about the same time.
   Namelessness was kitschy then.
