He wasn't telling Kirk when to call Star Fleet. He was asking Kirk why
   should they. Big difference.

He wasn't challenging anything. He was asking. The job of a science
   officer.

No, it's not complicated at all. You have to be right even when there's
evidence to refute it or no evidence to support it.

Like when I told you Kirk told Mendez that he took over the Enterprise
from Pike and you insisted he didn't. Even though I had a VHS copy of
the episode. I had to tell you three times before you believed it, if
   you believed it at all.

Which has nothing to do with the line in And the Children Shall Lead.
Kirk didn't suggest calling Star Fleet it was an order.

Again, rewatch the episode. Spock attempts to call Star Fleet. He tries
to make his finger reach the communications button. The children keep
him from doing so. "I'm sorry, Captain, I cannot." Not "I don't want
to, Captain." It was an order. Spock's personal feelings about making
the call wouldn't have mattered anyway. If they were there.
