   Chekov wasn't around on the bridge.  No one stated in the first season that    
   there wasn't a Pavel Chekov on the ship somewhere Khan could have met him.   
      
   Just like no one stated they went back and retrieved Khan's ship but they    
   must have since it was on the planet.
