   Nobody said the Iotians were primitive; the Horizon didn't give them   
   everything.   
   I think Kirk said they were on the edge of industrialization when the   
   Horizon came. So sure they houses, plumbing, maybe even a better   
   design for airplanes than the Wright brothers came up with, and   
   possibly even radio. We forget in the 21st century that radio began as   
   a piece of crystal and a pair of headphones; it wssn't until DeForest   
   came up with the vacuum tube that everything changed.   
   But what the Book did was to give them a template for a lifestyle they   
   knew nothing about previously.  They probably had cars of some sort,   
   then they made them into imitations of bad Ford cars probably worse   
   than what they might of had before the Horizon came. They probably had   
   rock & roll, then the Horizon came with a few records or CDs and the   
   iotians began listening to big band music. A one, and a two, and   
   a--  ;-)
