The color circle behind the insignia is       the only thing I remembered.       > They sure had a lot of money to burn for this movie, didn't they?       They did. After "Star Wars" in 1977 Hollywood money was flowing to       sci-fi like never before and Paramount had a somewhat known commodity       that, yes, did pay off for them handsomely in the long run. Poor much-       maligned ST:TMP. If it had really flopped then Star Trek would have       been finished, but we all know that didn't happen. If       thecaptainkirkpage.com's figures are to be believed then, adjusted for       inflation, it's still the top domestic ($278M vs. Trek2009's $257M)       and worldwide ($435M vs. Trek2009's $385M) Trek film performer --       probably because there was pent-up demand and everyone else had to see       what all the noise was about, regardless of the confusing uniforms       (bringing it back on-topic ;-)).       Rik       --- Synchronet 3.15a-Linux NewsLink 1.92-mlp        * Origin: http://groups.google.com (1:2320/105.97)       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
