   three colors: gold, blue and a light "salmon" color, which is what

   costumes. Remember that NBC was owned by RCA, and used the network as   
   a way to sell the then-uberpriced color TV sets RCA was making. The   
   blues stayed pretty much the same, the gold was actually changed to a   
   green that showed up as gold under the lighting, and the salmon was   
   dumped for a bright red. According to Gene at a con in the early 80's,   
   there was some talk about McCoy having either a green or a white tunic   
   to reflect what 20th century medicine garb colors, but the white   
   tended to make him glow and the medical green shades all went to gold   
   under those hot kleiglights. So they modified his blue tunic so it was
