Well, I just find it incredible that people would have the gall to slag the
thing off when they haven't even seen it. It's like those moral guardians
who demand that something be banned with the "No, I haven't seen it myself,
but I'm told it is disgusting" line.

I went to the movie not really knowing what to expect, though hoping for
something enjoyable. My sister and I went together as an echo of our going
to see The Motion Picture together in 1979 (I was 13 then, sheesh I feel old
now). And, we enjoyed it, and went to see it again a few days later. It's
entertainment, it's just fiction to be enjoyed, and maybe it'll be good and
maybe it won't be, but that's all it is.

Besides all else, we never know whether we'll like something until we've
watched it. I expected The Dark Knight to be great, but I was disappointed
(for me, it was OK but nothing special). I expected to like Sin City but
stopped watching out of disinterest after 15 minutes. OTOH, I didn't expect
anything much from Apocalypto, but was gripped throughout and it's now one
   of my favourite movies.

It seems to me that people like Anim8 and YN/Anybody have just lost touch
with what entertainment is. I wonder if they can actually enjoy any Star
Trek at all, or if they're so wrapped up in the "canon" thing they've just
completely lost touch with it being entertainment.

Whatever, I liked the movie. Damned if I'm going to be called a troll for
   saying so :)
