   In the 1970s, when I lived in southwestern New Mexico, I got to know a number   
   of   
   people who were members of the "Society of People Born off the Earth"...seems   
   they were all born in the hospital at Santa Rita, which by the time I moved to   
   the area had long been closed and demolished...the former site of the hospital   
   was then hundreds of feet above ground level above the open pit copper
