   My father told of a group of wounded Diggers lying on their stretchers   
   in the North African sun waiting to be put aboard the hospital ship he   
   was on. The loading was being done by African soldiers, but not   
   quickly enough for one Aboriginal, who shouted out "Hurry up, you
