   I'd heard it was GR's way of getting the last word on TMP, after the   
   production kerfuffle thereto.  He was a writer after all (though it   
   proved to be his sole novel).   
   Though it's common knowledge, ADF still does not admit to writing the   
   "Star Wars" novelization.  It's not on his web site.  "Splinter of the   
   Mind's Eye," yes, "Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker,"   
   no.
