   Was his order just his own choice, or was he basing it on what he   
   thought was to be the broadcast order?   
   The contrast between the two approaches is interesting: Blish adapted   
   full hour episodes into short stories of, what, 12 to 14 pages?, while   
   Foster adapted half hour episodes into novellettes.   
   I remember reading the Foster adaptation of "Farthest Star" before   
   seeing the episode. It was a little jarring how much the story seemed   
   condensed on the televised version.
