   Off topic, that reminds me of something ridiculous I saw on Space   
   1999, when I was a kid. Maybe someone here can explain what was going   
   on in this episode. But for some reason, the Moon had been given (and   
   somehow had the ability to retain) a breathable atmosphere in this   
   episode (!!). There was one bit where Martin Landau opens a window on   
   the base and takes a deep breath of the new atmosphere. Even as a   
   kid, I could see how ridiculous this was. And it's a good example of   
   what is and isn't believable in science-fiction. The idea of some   
   force so powerful that it can put an atmosphere on the moon, well   
   okay, I can buy that. I guess. But what I can't buy is that a   
   moonbase would be designed with windows made to be openable, in the   
   unlikely event that such a thing should ever happen.

   I don't remember that. I saw Generations at least twice, but I must   
   have missed the episode where Picard had gotten it, and so didn't   
   realize it was continuity.
