From Newsgroup: alt.tv.star-trek.tos       From Address: graemecree@aol.com       Subject: Re: The Time Trap (TAS): my review              But the short answer is that the few who like The Empath like it for       what it tried to deliver, and the rest dislike it for what it actually       did deliver.              But it does have one thing going for it that shows like A Night in       Sickbay don't. As awful as Empath is, it does have Kirk, Spock and       McCoy in it, who are just interesting characters that people like       seeing working together solving problems. As awful as the script is,       there's no massive character assasination like there is for Scotty in       The Lights of Zetar. The Big Three act pretty much like they should       act, even in such an idiotic situation, which gives the show some       little value. Not compared with other TOS episodes, but compared to A       Night in Sickbay, where the characters themselves are downright       unlikable.              Anyway, nobody can complain about how mean people are any more.       Despite the killfile, I can see by the responses that nobody went       after the episode this time. Rather, one of the long-time Empath       trolls brought it up out of the blue and practically begged people to       attack it, just to shift the discussion away from The Time Trap. The       victim game is over.       --- Synchronet 3.15a-Linux NewsLink 1.92-mlp        * Origin: http://groups.google.com (1:2320/105.97)       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1)    |
