   I suppose a new series is inevitable, whether this one gets off the   
   ground or not.   
      
   Anyway, it claims to not "disregard" the previous series, but when it   
   mentions the Ferengi I wonder if they'll remember that Rom's   
   appointment as Grand Nagus signaled a reformation of Feringinar away   
   from its traditional avaricious state.  There weren't a lot of details   
   but it was definitely a story arc (as was Nog's unexpected Starfleet   
   career and Quark's ultimate declaration of admiring the Federation's   
   ability to keep stability).   
      
   (And as much as I liked Quark, Nog and Rom, why would they pick the   
   Ferengi as major players  in a new series?)
