Is that the one with Phlox's evening? I thought it was an interesting
character study. The plot wasn't absurd in any way, even if you found
   it unexciting.

the fact of the captain having a spas attack because his dog is sick after
being taken on a diplomatic mission, one which was intended to make up for a
perceived insult against their hosts isnt absurd ????????????.
thing is he was probably already stretching the patience of the, already
demonstrated, high sensitivity of the planets inhabitants, well before his
dog pissed on their sacred tree.

"I'm here to show my sincere regrets, by allowing my dog to urinate on your
   world"

"what are they complaining about now'

archer, in this episode, is yet again shown to have all the diplomatic
finesse of a barbary pirate on a slave raiding voyage

   cheers
