   That could be.  Trek never addressed the question at all, or even   
   seemed to notice that they kept repeating this motif over and over.   
   That's one thing I liked about Paradise Syndrome, come to think of   
   it.  Somebody actually noticed how unusual it was that they kept   
   showing so many planets full of beings identical to humans, and   
   attempted to come up with some kind of explanation for it.
