Manager Global Web Applications
Major Responsibilities
..Serve as a technical resource and focal point for global application and
architecture teams and provide problem resolution for supported infrastructure.
..Review performance and capacity management reports and work closely with
other areas of I/T to resolve issues and develop solutions for new capacity
needs/requirements. Recommend global web systems performance tuning activities.
..Provide general supervision to direct and dotted line reports. Monitor and
evaluate performance, conduct disciplinary discussions when necessary, make
compensation adjustment and merit increase recommendations, etc. Insure that
the information assets of the Company and the commercial clients are protected
at all times.
..Conduct periodic planning sessions with application and architecture teams,
business unit leaders, and internal teams to guide direction within standards.
..Maintain/enhance technical expertise and industry knowledge including
database technologies, publishing tools, Solaris/Linux technologies, storage
networks, enterprise backup, and process improvement tools and techniques.
..Identify and alert management of problems that will impact progress on
projects and other activities.
..Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Education
1.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information systems or related area.
Advanced degree or additional business management degree desirable.
2.Seven (7) years of experience working in a principal IT senior
manager/executive capacity of increasing responsibility, within a dynamic
growth environment that makes data driven decisions. Experience in industrial
manufacturing environment and international IT leadership are strongly
preferred.
3.Ability to function at a strategic level; Experience with enterprise-wide
system implementations, and extensive hands-on experience as an IT
professional.
4.Demonstrated work history of advancing IT systems & practices as a business
partner to executive management in a complex and/or matrix-operating
environment.
5.Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively
direct MPT’s overall IT operations in order to maximize systems & service
delivery and cost efficiencies; consistently meets objectives timely and
accurately.
6.Highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely
articulate ideas, concepts and proposals.
