That is the "bbslist xtrn app" for Synchronet. In fact, it comes pre-installed
as the "Synchronet BBS List" external program (in the "main" external program
   section).

If it just dumps a version and quits, then I suspect you're running it with
jsexec and not *from* the BBS. sbbslist.js can be run from JSexec, but not as
an interactive/door mode but rather for other operations on the list file. See
   https://wiki.synchro.net/module:sbbslist#command-line for details.

    > come to think of it, is there a repo of js 'doors'?

Most of the Synchronet JS doors that are actively supported are already
included in the "xtrn" directory of your Synchronet installation and can be
easily added to your configuration using the xtrn-setup script (which is also
pre-installed/configured in the "operator" external program section).

As for Git repo of these (and more) JS doors, yes, they're here:
   https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/tree/master/xtrn
