My guess: you have the user        > DM> account for this recipient configured to forward to an external        > DM> Internet email address.        >        > Finally found what I was looking for! In the new user prompts I like to        > have email addresses so that I can contact outside of the BBS if there is an        > issue. I also do not have a working email forwarding system configuration as        > my ISP / domain doesn't seem to like it. (I started to try to use your BBS        > per the wiki but it didn't seem to work - would need more troubleshooting on        > that at some point).        >        > I removed the forward email checkbox in user editor for me, resent a help        > request for areafix@46:1/100, and i indeed got a reply that was sitting in        > my inbox (expected behavior).              Okay, good.               > I was trying to see if i could require a unique email but also force the "no        > email forwarding" but it didn't seem possible in sbbscfg.              I'm not really sure what you mean. SCFG->System->New User Prompts->Force       Unique E-mail/NetMail is completely separate option from SCFG->Message       Options->Allow Forwarding to NetMail. They're not connected in way. You can       enable or disable either or both of them separately in SCFG.               > I was trying to        > modify the newuser_signup.js, but per (presumably your) comment note at the        > beginning of the file - that that script isn't called. I didn't see any        > changes to the new user login process when i modified that .js file.              That's correct, that file (newuser_signup.js) is not used.               > Is there any other way to achive unique emails and auto-disable the checkbox        > for email forwarding?              The 2 SCFG settings I mentioned above.               > I was also looking for a way for the user to enter just their zip code (not        > address) so that a weather door could use the zip for the forecast but not        > be too creepy requiring a mailing address. I tried to modify this in        > newuser_singup.js but was not successful.              That file (newuser_signup.js) is not used.              You can disable prompts by setting their text strings to blank strings, e.g.       in you ctrl/text.ini file (you create):       EnterYourCityState = ""       --         digital man (rob)              Sling Blade quote #20:       Doyle: Hey is this the kind of retard that drools and rubs shit in his hair?       Norco, CA WX: 71.0øF, 62.0% humidity, 7 mph W wind, 0.00 inches rain/24hrs       --- SBBSecho 3.27-Linux        * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705)       SEEN-BY: 10/0 1 102/401 103/1 13 17 705 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187       SEEN-BY: 129/14 153/7715 154/110 214/22 218/0 1 215 601 700 720 840       SEEN-BY: 218/860 880 226/30 227/114 229/110 114 206 317 400 426 428       SEEN-BY: 229/470 550 700 705 266/512 280/464 291/111 301/1 320/219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26 5075/35       PATH: 103/705 218/700 229/426           |
