   I've used Visual Studio Code (and have it installed on my Linux BBS system); I   
   might have a look at its Git tools. I'll look into the others (thanks for the   
   mentions).  I've actually used GitKraken in the past, which I liked (more for   
   looking at Git history for various commits), though it would be good to have a   
   free option too.
