   That setting will need to be enabled for SBBSecho to export QWK or   
   USENET-imported messages to FidoNet (even for a point). But that has nothing   
   to with areafix. You should be able areafix-add that area (if it's in your   
   area file), regardless. But you'll be missing all non-locally-created messages   
   in those message bases in your packets unless you enable the "gate between net   
   types" option.
