   ok not to be rude, but why would you even ask if you have no intention of   
   running a BBS?   
      
   You can pick up tried and tested PCs dead cheap these days. They don't need to   
   be the latest and greatest, just some sort of x86_64 with 4GB+ of memory will   
   run Synchronet.   
      
   I have no problem telling people to go read the documentation, and I've been   
   told that enough times, but if someone can genuinely prove they've given it a   
   try then I'll help out, and if they can articulate their issue and provide   
   useful feedback. Getting support is a 2 way street, if you want help, you have   
   to be prepared to run command and paste output.
