   Okay, let's not call it insecure, but rather unencrypted. But FTPS is good.   
   Then there's no problem at all and you can protect the FTP connection.   
      
   If it is possible and does not require any special effort, i am always in   
   favour of encrypting the connection. Not overkill but default.
