   You can do that too, with the latest version that I committed to the repo   
   recently.  My area choosers now have a user settings dialog which you can open   
   with Ctrl-U; in there, there's an option for sorting.  That was released just   
   over a week ago, so it's possible that sysops don't have that yet if they   
   haven't updated recently.
