I don't know of anything like       that being removed.               > If this is true, can someone share the history/reason this was disabled ?              Downloading files via FTP and HTTP are integral features of Synchronet.       Sending a link to someone via the terminal server could be done (wasn't done       before that I recall), but FTP URLs aren't really all that useful these days       since you can't use them in modern web browsers and an HTTP URL would depend       on *how* you're sharing your files via the web: ecWeb or webfileindex.               > Have noticed C-net and Mystic bbses providing web links (temporary) for        > larger files. Wondering if there is a way to do this with synchronet.        >        > I see the default menu shows the following        > [X] XMODEM-Original [1] XMODEM-1K/CRC        > [Y] YMODEM [G] YMODEM-G        > [Z] ZMODEM [L] Local Copy              A temporary link isn't necessary since Synchronet provides permanent links,       e.g. https://vert.synchro.net/Synchronet/sbbs320b.zip              There's also the option to email files to users:       https://wiki.synchro.net/module:emailfiles       --         digital man (rob)              Synchronet/BBS Terminology Definition #56:       NNTP = Network News Transfer Protocol       Norco, CA WX: 75.5øF, 17.0% humidity, 1 mph WSW wind, 0.00 inches rain/24hrs       --- SBBSecho 3.23-Linux        * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705)       SEEN-BY: 10/0 1 102/401 103/1 17 705 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187       SEEN-BY: 153/7715 218/0 1 215 601 700 840 860 880 226/30 227/114 229/110       SEEN-BY: 229/114 206 317 400 426 428 470 550 700 705 266/512 280/464       SEEN-BY: 282/1038 291/111 301/1 320/219 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58       SEEN-BY: 633/280 712/848 902/26 5075/35       PATH: 103/705 218/700 229/426           |
