   This could mean that the binkp.net f.n.z host (I believe it is hosted in   
   Fidonet zone 2) was down. To be honest, I never thought it was a good idea to   
   rely on this for anything. Making direct links to the systems you want to   
   connect to is a much better method.   
      
   Sometimes it's not Synchronet BBS's fault. You're connecting to other   
   systems that may have issues as well.   
      
   Avon mentioned he was going to be away for a couple weeks, whether it be   
   personal or business, but it's quite possible his system stopped   
   answering, or his DNS provider was down for 24 hours, or the binkp.net thing   
   was down. There's many reasons, but it probably wasn't your system that was   
   the problem.   
      
   It's not always you and/or the system you're running. Sometimes you need   
   to just be patient and wait for things to clear up on it's own.
