   Charles,

CS>something, if I could draw, I would try to make! *LOL*

If you want to apply beforehand, send netmail to FIDONet 1:19/33, with
your name, desired alias, city and state (no address needed) and desired
password (max 8 characters). Note that you heard about it from the
FIDONet Survivors echo, and I'll get you pre-registered, so you don't
have to go through the New User Logon process.

As for the graphics, I do my ANSI's by hand...mainly for the
bulletins, and some of the holiday emphasis screens. The holiday screens
   are from 3 sources:

   1) A collection of monthly themes, originally done and copyrighted by
Bob Snyder in 1987...but he wanted Sysops to post these on their BBS's.

   2) The HOLIDAY program with Virtual Advanced BBS Software.

   3) Some I made on my own.

For the latter, I open the trusty archaic MS-DOS Editor , then
create the graphic with text, then high ascii characters. I have a
utility from the former DreamNet doors, done by Andy Stewart, that will
list all ALT-### keys, with the high low ascii character designations.
Once I have that set the way I want it, then I add the ANSI color codes
with an escape code (ctrl-P and the left bracket)...then #;##m --
where 0 or 1 is the first digit, 3 the second digit, and 0 through 7 the
   third digit. This gives:

   0;30 - black (invisible)
   1;30 - dark grey
   0;31 - red
   1;31 - pinkish red
   0;32 - green
   1;32 - bright green
   0;33 - brown
   1;33 - yellow
   0;34 - blue
   1;34 - bright blue
   0;35 - purple
   1;35 - magenta
   0;36 - cyan
   1;36 - bright cyan
   0;37 - white
   1;37 - bright white

This is how I get the ANSI for The Local Weather Brief, listing the
   advisories for Arkansas.

One I'm particularly pleased with is an American Flag, partially at
half staff, with a poem "In Loving Memory"...mainly for Memorial Day,
   and 9/11.

I then set up events in the Windows 7 Task Scheduler, to copy these to
the appropriate place on certain days of the year.
