|    Cyst Surgery    |

I've done some research, and there's a possibility that I may end up having       to have cyst surgery. In the past, I have had them removed off of my face,       and my back. My big concern is that I don't want them to become boils, where       the lancing is an extremely painful procedure.                I have had a cyst on my scrotum for quite some time (one doctor termed it       as "a hickey", although I never got that kinky with sex). The other one is a       bit of a mass on the left buttocks cheek. My former PCP said "it's a benign       mass", but whenever you get a sore that doesn't heal, that could be a cancer       warning sign.                Obviously, I don't want to jump the gun on this...never mind the cost, prep       work, or recovery. But, by the same token, I don't want these turning into       something far worse, such as cancer.                Speaking of prep, I'm still waiting for the "scheduling letter" from my       gastrointerologist on when to set up my next colonoscopy. It has been almost       2 years since my last one, and because I'm "a polyp producer", I want to be       sure these are detected and removed, before they become cancerous. I also go       to see my urologist next month, for another follow-up after the Urolift       prostate surgery, and for the yearly check of the urinary tract (kidney stone       check, bladder check, etc.), plus the prostate check via the digital rectal       exam, and the PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test.                While the medical visits, procedures, and prescriptions help me reduce the       rent I have to pay each year (from the standard full rate), the expenses can       obviously make the bank account ill. :P But, I'm a big proponent of       prevention...I've heard far too many stories of individuals who waited too       long to see their physicians or specialists.               Daryl              --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS         * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS (1:19/33)    |
