   Ardith...

AH>Precisely my point. I can copy echomail from our BBS into a writing
AH>area which doesn't scan out. When I've finished a reply I then move
AH>or copy it into the echo area, which *does* scan out.... :-)

This way, I can read the messages, and compose them at my leisure,
without "the clock running", and keeping others from using the
BBS...mine or someone elses...although mine is ususally where I take
care of the messages...and I do that first. Besides, that was the
   original purpose of BBS's. :)

AH>I hear you. There are a lot of medical expenses in our household as
AH>well. Too bad you had to miss the convention... I think it's
AH>important that we include some "fun" activities in our lives. And
AH>music & dancing are especially helpful because they can give both
AH>the body & the brain a good workout.

Three hours of square dancing is equivalent to 6 miles of walking. Of
course, when you go out afterwards, and order a banana hot fudge royale
sundae, well... When I started dancing 30 years ago, I lost 25
pounds, from dancing every night of the week. At that time, there were
at least 20 clubs in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. Sadly now, that's
what's about left in the state of Arkansas. :(

AH>Now, what... if anything... came to light as a result? :-)

Well, I had to get a new PCP in mid-July. I got a note from my now
former one that said "it'd be best that I find another one". I figured
it was due to this Obamacare medical payment deal. I have Medicare,
being fully disabled (for 10 years now), but they took away my Medicaid
about a year before my wife died...they said together, we made too much
money. Since when is making $1500 a month between two people too much
   money??

Anyway, I had to call around, and found a clinic, with a nice female
PCP (they are a bit more gentle on the actual physical exam, as the
males at times seem to forget their own strength). However, to medical
staff, nudity means nothing to them. Yet, I know people who won't go to
a doctor, as they don't want them to see them nude...you figure it out.

In this visit, I had them check everything...including cysts in the
scrotal and buttocks areas. I've always had problem with cysts
developing, and my brother has a problem with boils...which I know are
very painful when they're lanced. She, and the female nurse in there,
said "we'll have to keep an eye on them".

They were to request records from my former PCP, and since I had just
had complete blood work done 2 weeks prior, I couldn't see doing it
   again.

I may eventually have to have the "green light prostate surgery"
done, where they basically cut a hole through the center of the
prostate, so the urethra isn't constricted, and urine can pass out of
the body without being blocked. I've had problems with an enlarged
prostate for almost 15 years, but it's not cancer, and it's part of a
   man growing old. :P

I'm due to have the KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder) check in September,
and they may do an IVP (intravenous pyelogram), where dye is injected to
check for blockage in the urinary tract, such as from a kidney stone.
Either way, the colon has to be purged out, so fecal material isn't
blocking the view, as it were. At least I don't need another colonoscopy
until August, 2015...even though they found polyps a year ago.

I did take them a complete med list, with:

   1) Personal, Contact, and Health Information
   2) List of all the current doctors and specialists
   3) List of relatives who died from cancer, heart attack, etc.
   4) List of all the surgeries I've had done
   5) List of the allergies, reactions, etc. (I don't do well with
anesthesia...blood pressure plunges under sedation, and I have to have
   anti-nausea medicine)
   6) List of current medications
   7) Issues to be covered during the visit

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that everyone have something like this...as it
