Subject: Wildcat! Support on Email Mailing List using ESP accounts
   Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------040500060205080809060602"

   Folks,'

We have a problem with email subscriptions to our mailing list from
subscribers using large ESP junk alias accounts, such as gmail.com and
others but right now, gmail.com is the problem.

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, after just 2 support messages
between Terry and I, the next 3rd and 4th messages was now blocked for
all gmail.com subscriptions as unsolicited spam mail. It was not
accepted and moved to a spam box but instead, the transaction was flat
out rejected with a permanent 55x rejection code:

*550-5.7.1 [76.245.57.69 12] Our system has detected that this message is
550-5.7.1 likely unsolicited mail. To reduce the amount of spam sent
   to Gmail,
550-5.7.1 this message has been blocked. Please visit
   550-5.7.1 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=UnsolicitedMessageError
   550 5.7.1 for more information. n68si1874381vsi.235 - gsmtp*

These immediate 55x rejections causes WCSMTP to add the gmail.com
address to the data\badrcpt.txt which will make the address inactive
the next time WcListServer tries to distribute a new submission.

It took me more than fives hours to get this cleaned up, contacting
   google and issuing a complaint.

We have over 104 gmail accounts subscription to the various SSI
mailing lists. The main problem is that one rejection cab cause a
rejection for all and then all the gmail.com subscribers will be
   deactivated in the mailing list.

We can't have this. It is not fair to us and our customers. This has
nothing to do with dead accounts. Accounts that gmail says are not
longer active are ok to be rejected and deactivated. But is not want
happen. The problem is the 5.50 5.7.1 policy-based spam or unsolicited
mail rejections which causes for ALL gmail.com accounts.

So here is what I would like to ask:

I really prefer that you don't use large public ESP junk alias
accounts on our system. If you can change the subscription to a
private domain, please do so or don't use the mailiing list and
instead use the online support system. If you want, we can provide
you with a private winserver.com email account for POP3/SMTP.
Honestly, you shouldn't be using large public ESP junk email addresses
on commercial supports systems. If would like to continue using gmail
for our mailing list, simply because you have now made it your main
email account, then please make sure it is used correctly and please
white list all santronics.com and winserver.com domains so that any
mail that comes from is not considered spam or unsolicited mail.

But the bottom line is this:

If this continues to happen, and this message is a test to the
reactivated gmail.com accounts, I plan begin to have a policy to
disallow and restrict gmaill.com and any other large public ESP
accounts that begin to exhibit this practice of interfering with our
support and communications with customers with erroneous
spam/unsolicited mail detection. In fact, I already added a TO-DO
item for a future Wildcat! List Server feature to add subscription
   controls by email domain.

We can't be going through this with our support process. We are not
really busy too!! Just imagine when we really get busy in the
mailing list. It's going to be a real problem with the gmail
subscriptions. I won't allow it to happen. I will block gmail.com
accounts from using our mailing list. I could just allow the
automatic deactivation. The problem is the announcements which is
very low frequency. If you use gmail there, we probably won't see
rejections there. But with the mailing list that get busy, an
deactivation there will stop announcements too. So its a mess and I
would just rather block gmail.com accounts from subscription to the
   support mailing list.
