I used mapquest asking directions from Bourbon Street to the
Superdome, and got the following results:

 1: Start out going NORTHEAST on BOURBON ST toward IBERVILLE ST. <0.1

 2: Turn RIGHT onto IBERVILLE ST. <0.1 miles Map

 3: Turn RIGHT onto ROYAL ST. <0.1 miles Map

 4: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto ST CHARLES AVE. 0.2 miles Map

 5: Turn RIGHT onto POYDRAS ST. 0.3 miles Map

 6: Turn RIGHT onto LOYOLA AVE. 0.2 miles Map

 7: End at New Orleans, LA US  Map

Total Est. Time: 3 minutes     Total Est. Distance: 1.00 miles

	ONE FRIGGING MILE to safety! Given the two days notice to get
there, people could have crawled to the Superdome. Those people who
did are being bused to Texas and other states. Many of those who
didn't are in body bags.
