XPost: rec.arts.sf.written From: mstemper@walkabout.empros.com In article <1222962671@sheol.org>, throopw@sheol.org (Wayne Throop) writes: >I really dont see much evidence that Heinlein thought a "utopia" (as in, >optimal, stable social structure) was possible. Nor that the ST society >was all that long-term stable. Is there any indication in the book as to the year of its setting? I got the impression that the ST society had taken its form in the aftermath of WW3, which would give us an idea of how long it had been in existence. I always thought that the ST society had been in existence for many centuries, but don't have any textev at my fingertips. -- Michael F. Stemper #include |
