   Why USB controlled? Is there a specific reason?   
      
   IMHO it's much easier (and cheaper) to use something like   
   https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0054PSIDW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title ,   
   connect it to the PI via WLAN and control it via MQTT.   
   The PI can work as AP if there's no WLAN available.
