   Why would I throw away my old phones? Verizon will connect up your   
   telephone jacks in the house to the FIOS box, allowing you to continue   
   to use the old telephone sets including the classic AT&T ones. So I just   
   continue to use my conference speaker[hone which originally worked on   
   the POTS line, and now works on the FIOS simulated POTS line.
