   As the copper wire is abandoned everywhere, fiber optic is the only way to   
   go. I guess you only want phone service in your favorite urban areas. But   
   relax. Under the current Republican leadership, we will soon abandon   
   universal phone and mail service soon enough. Then you can rejoice...but   
   Amtrak will go away too.
