From: johnl@iecc.com              >Ha! Try dealing with Brazil. Our summer is their winter. From most of       >Oregon to most of Brazil is a 4 hour difference in July and a 6 hour       >difference in December.              Well, yeah, and most other countries in the southern temperate zone,       including Paraguay, Uruguay, Australia, and New Zealand. Argentina       being Argentina uses the same time as eastern Brazil, even though       they're geographically at least an hour farther west, but no daylight       time.              If you want confusing, try Kirimati (Christmas Island) where the time       zone is GMT+14. That is, it's the same time as Hawaii and Tahiti, but       a day later. Or (Western) Samoa is GMT+13, while nearby American       Samoa is GMT-11, again same time, a day later.              --       Regards,       John Levine, johnl@iecc.com, Primary Perpetrator of "The Internet for Dummies",       Please consider the environment before reading this e-mail. http://jl.ly              --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03        * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1)    |
