Some said as much as 40 knots. But it also       consumed enormous fuel, and generally ran at much slower speeds.              It appears any effort to restore it service has ceased since the restoration       costs would be so high they never could be recovered, plus the ship's design       is obsolete for today's service needs.              It is questionable whether it can be saved at all. Doing just about anything       with it would cost a fortune.              It was a beautiful ship, and it would be a shame if it is lost. But the money       just ain't there.              --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03        * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1)    |
