   Can't save them all, and frankly, the NS Savannah is more worthy of   
   preservation, though it also has time against it- the NRC requires the   
   plant be decommissioned by 2031.  There is a push to see if they'll   
   allow an 'abandon in place'.  It's actually not very radioactive at all,   
   since it was defueled in the 70's and there's nothing really dangerous   
   on it anymore.   
      
   It is open to the public occasionally, typically for Maritime day.
