Back when I used to make this connection, before the EWR train station, the
dedicated train-station-to-airport bus cost $2.00, and the regular city bus
to the airport was (IIRC) $0.75.

Most of the people taking the station-to-airport bus were airport
employees, and most of them were connecting from other buses or PATH. I
suppose that when EWR station opened and the dedicated bus went away, most
of its riders lost their express service.
