   It was a bit more involved than that.   
      
   There was also some thought that there would be issues with pantograph   
   contact operating at that type of speed.  They also realized that they   
   probably should not have truck mounted motors in order to reduce the   
   unsprung load, so they needed a way to get the motors off the trucks and   
   into the body.   
      
   So, the gas turbine prototype set was also used as a test bed for   
   developing all of those details on the eventual electric version.
