   That's why, in general, contracts require the parties be at least 18   
   years old (among other things).  There is an exception for marriage for   
   various reasons, but most states set the age at 16-18.  Some allow it at   
   14-15, and only one allows it (in limited circumstances) at 12.

   That is called "murder" in the US.  It's not specifically related to   
   marriage or consent, aside from the mistaken belief of some fathers   
   (based on Adam's beloved "traditional definition of marriage") that   
   daughters are chattel slaves and their consent is irrelevant.
