The information about the Piedmont did not mention the Delaware Car Co., or
least I do not remember seeing that. They had the model # for the engine,
but I did not write that down. . However, it was obvious that the cars had
been rebuilt and looked "new" inside. In fact, quite impressive. The snack
bar, however, was coin machines and so forth, but there was a nice place to
eat in the car. So we had to walk the entire length of the train and all
the equipment was clean and very nice indeed. By contrast, the old commuter
cars (Chicago and Northwestern) that were running to give the public a very
short ride down a side track were real old-fashioned cars commuters used to
call "cattle cars." Too late to ask the question for you. I was wondering
what equipment they were running in place of the rebuilt train!!
